I'm at the biggest transpo research conference in the world, hunched over my laptop in the hallway clicking around www.congestion-pricing-tracker.com instead of, like, participating #trbam

Great #trbam research from @nwurban.bsky.social on the safety and comfort of shared bike/bus stop platforms in Portland. Findings - low conflicts, bicyclists slowed in the presence of buses and people, people generally managing interactions even when not strictly following design intent.

Are you a transportation practitioner or researcher who has read "Confessions of a Recovering Engineer" by Charles Marohn? And attending #TRBAM in a couple weeks? I found this scathing critique of the traffic engineering field to be very thought provoking, and would love to discuss it with folks.

Really interesting findings from a 15-year-running survey on mileage fees by Hilary Nixon+Asha Weinstein Agrawal of Mineta: consistently more people support a "Green" mileage fee--charging more polluting cars more--than a flat one. #TRBAM
